The atelier

Agnessa Todorova

Founder and Creative Director

NESNES was founded by Agnessa Todorova. At its heart is the couture atelier, where each piece is conceived, cut and sewn in natural fibres by the methods of the old ateliers: toiles fitted on the body, canvas pad-stitched by hand, beading and eyelets worked stitch by stitch.

She grew up in her mother’s fashion studio in Chișinău, Moldova, learning to sew among patterns, fittings and finished pieces. The crafts of that childhood remain at the heart of her work – the fringe of a woven rug, the wrap of a folk skirt – set against the clean lines of architecture.

In Dublin, she refined her craft at the couture house of Sharon Hoey, across its bridal atelier and its label Andtate, and at Electra, among the French luxury houses.

Couture commissions are accepted in limited number each season.
